Washington West Chicago, was killed and his wife injured yesterday when an auto in which they were riding struck an embankment and turned over on the Denver toll road near Boulder, Colo. Two other women in the car driven by James L.
Stayton assistant of men at the University of Colorado, were hospitalized with minor injuries. They were Miss Jane Childress, 26, and Miss Ruth Bevers, 28, both of Boulder. Colorado police said Stayton was driving north toward Boulder when the car went out of control the slippery pavement about three miles south of Boulder. Dr. Hollister and his wife were vacationing in Colorado.
He was a surgeon for the Chicago and North Western railway and had offices at 116 Sophia st. in West Chicago. Killed in Three Car Crash was injured fatally Herberts, Flick, 25, of Three and six others also were hurt, in a three auto crash in U. S. 12, a mile and a half east of Michigan City, Ind.
The injured are Joseph Wright, 32, Michigan City, and Angelo White, 22, of 451 E. 62d who were driving two of the autos; Alfred Suida, 28, of Three Oaks, with whom Flick was riding; White's mother, Lila, 52; his wife, Catherine, 21, and a son, Angelo 4. Police intensified search for a hit-run driver after an unidentified man, about 58, died in County hospital of injuries suffered Saturday night when he was struck at 652 North av. Killed as Car Crashes Adam J. Roskopf, 37, a welder, of 2729 Southport was killed when his auto crashed in highway 30, just east of highway 47, six miles west of Aurora, Kane county.
Roskopf's car missed a curve, struck a culvert, and rolled over. Emrys Evans, 40, of 1500 Kennedy Lake Forest, an English instructor at Lake Forest college, injured Thursday in a collision between his car and another in high42-A, one-half mile south of Buckley county, died yesterday in Lake Forest hospital. Evans' wife, Joanne, 22, a chemist, was killed in the crash. W. B.
GREENLEE, EXECUTIVE AND AUTHOR, IS DEAD William Brooks Greenlee, 80, of 1100 Lake Shore manufacturing executive, author and well known collector of rare books, died yesterday at Passavant hospital. Mr. Greenlee was born in Chicago and was educated at Cornell university. He was chairman of the board of the Greenlee Brothers, of Rockford, the Greenlee Foundry company, the Northwestern Stove Repair company, and the Northwestern Foundry company. the Mr.
Newberry Greenlee library, was a to trustee which of contributed, 6,000 many books valuable on books, Portuguese history and literature. He also donated a collection of old books, including several incunabula, to Northwestern university's Deering library. His book, "The Voyage of Pedro Alvares Cabral to Brazil and India," was published in 1938. Surviving are the widow, Adeline Fargo Greenlee; a daughter, Mrs. Isabel Greenlee Farrar, and a son, Robert Fargo.

GEOLOGIST 3 DECADES, DIES Dr. John R. Ball, 71, noted geologist who retired as professor of geology and paleontology at Northwestern university in 1946 after being a faculty member for 30 years, died yesterday in his home in Seattle. After retiring from Northwestern, Dr. Ball taught for five years at the University of Kansas City, then briefly at the University of North Carolina before he went to Seattle.
Until he became ill six months ago, he taught at the College of Puget Sound in Tacoma. Dr. Ball, a native of Fremont, wrote many books on geology and was credited with naming several new fossils in the Silurian formations of southeastern Missouri. He served on the Illinois state geological survey in 1927 and 1944, and on the North Dakota geological survey in 1946. Survivors include his son, Dr.

This lot is in the 1st ward, whose alderman is John D'Arco. Debris from a building torn down at 2914. Princeton av. has been a breeding spot for huge rats, residents in the neighborhood complained yesterday. They said wreckers had left rubbish and parts of the wrecked building piled more than three feet high, which made the lot a dangerous place for children to play.

Brown Dr. E. V. L. Brown, 76, Chicago oculist, died yesterday in his home, 529 Cedar Winnetka.
He was graduated from the Hahnemann Medical college in 1897, and received a degree from Rush Medical college in 1898 after postgraduate work in Berlin and Vienna. He was professor of ophthalmology and head of the department at the University of Illinois medical school from 1917 to 1926; professor of ophthalmology at the University Chicago from 1926 to 1942, and Rush professor ophthalmology at the University of Illinois from 1942 to 1946. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Frieda Kirchoff Brown; three sons, Edward Donald Dr. David V.

GUNMEN WORK SMOOTHLY, GET $24,000 LOOT St. Paul, March 1 (P)-Three smartly operating gunmen got about $24,000, half of it in cash, in a daylight robbery of the Sanitary Farm Dairies office today. Unmasked, the walked into the front door, climbed the stairs to the third floor, and confronted 25 milkmen and three office workers counting wee receipts. The gunmen split up, each handling a particular assignment. One forced an office worker, Marie Ludwig, into the small room where the safe was kept.
t. He looted the safe. A second gunman startled Mrs. Corinne Robinson in her cashier's grabbed several stacks of currency, and stuffed 3 them into a flannel bag. The third robber walked into a room where 25 milkmen sat at three long tables counting their day's collections.
He said, "OK, boys, please move over to one table, and no one will get hurt." The milkmen complied. The bandit ignored $500 which had been counted onto the tables. The gunmen left the building togetherthru the front door. GETS LAST WISH, SEES 2 GI SONS BEFORE SHE DIES Mrs. Frances Hermes, 41, of 4127 Arthur Brookfield, died in Wesley Memorial hospital yesterday, but before she passed away she was granted her wish to see her 21 year old twin soldier sons.
Mrs. Hermes was admitted to the hospital Jan. 23, suffering from hypertension. When told by physicians that her condition was serious, she made an appeal to the American Red Cross to help bring to her bedside her sons who were stationed with the 96th antiaircraft battalion at Fort Richardson, Alaska. The sons, Pfc.
