FrozenBlueberry Clusters Recipe – With Fresh Blueberries and Greek Yogurt

Looking for healthier bite-sized snacks option for these hot summer days? These blueberry yogurt clusters are made with fresh blueberries, protein packed greek yogurt, and then dipped in melted chocolate for the ultimate healthy snack option.

Creamy yogurt combines with juicy blueberries and then it’s frozen which creates this ice cream-like consistency and frozen yogurt taste. You can either drizzle chocolate over top of the frozen clusters or dip the entire blueberry cluster in melted chocolate.

Ingredients Needed For Chocolate Covered Yogurt & Blueberry Clusters

  • Fresh Blueberries :Make sure to rinse and then dry the blueberries before adding them in with the yogurt. I only recommend using fresh blueberries and not frozen blueberries. This recipe has only been tested using fresh blueberries.
  • Plain Greek Yogurt
  • Chocolate :This can either be chocolate chips or chocolate baking bars. Use dark chocolate (my preferred choice), semi-sweet, or milk chocolate. If using baking bars then chop them up into smaller pieces so they’ll melt quicker in the microwave.
  • Coconut Oil :This is a must-add addition when melting the chocolate. It helps the chocolate melt smooth, makes it shiny, and prevents the chocolate from seizing up.
  • Flaky Sea Salt :A finishing touch option for the clusters. It adds a nice salty taste and is a really great addition if wanted.

How To Make This Viral TikTok Recipe – Blueberry Clusters (Recipe Card Below)

  1. Using a large baking sheet, like a cookie sheet, line it with parchment paper (or wax paper) and set it to the side.
  2. In a medium bowl, stir together the blueberries and plain greek yogurt until well combined. Drop spoonfuls of the creamy yogurt fruit mixture onto the parchment-lined baking sheet. You can use a large spoon to do this or an ice cream scoop.
  3. Place the baking sheet into the freezer for 1 hour.
  4. Melt the chocolate and coconut oil, inside a microwave-safe bowl, in 30-second increments until it’s melted, completely smooth, and looks shiny. Make sure to stir it well after each 30-second cook time. Don’t over-cook it or else the chocolate will seize up.
  5. Working one frozen cluster at a time, place it into the melted chocolate and use a fork or spoon to ensure that the entire clustered is covered in chocolate. Place the chocolate dipped cluster back onto the prepared baking sheet and allow them to set until the chocolate is hardened. This won’t take long at all! If using sea salt, sprinkle some on the cluster while the chocolate is still warm.

Make Small Clusters/Serving Size Tips

This recipe can yield as many, or as little clusters as you prefer. To make small clusters, more bite-sized portions, then only drop about 1-2 tablespoons of the yogurt blueberry mixture onto the parchment paper. If you want larger clusters, then scoop a larger amount for each cluster (like 2-4 tablespoons).

How To Store Yogurt Clusters With Fresh Fruit

The blueberry clusters need to be kept in the freezer at all times. They are best eaten frozen straight from the freezer. After the chocolate coating has set, transfer clusters to an airtight container and keep in the freezer for up to 2 months.

If you prefer a softer consistency then you can let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes before eating.

What Chocolate Is Best To Use?

It really depends on what you prefer! Want a sweeter chocolate coating? Then use milk chocolate. To keep it healthier use dark chocolate. Or if you prefer a mix between the two try using semi-sweet chocolate.

You can use either chocolate chips or chocolate baking bars. These are not the same thing as a Hershey’s milk chocolate candy bar. But rather, they are baking bars that are found in the baking aisle at the grocery store.

Personally, I love making dark chocolate blueberry clusters by melting some dark chocolate chips to dip the frozen yogurt blueberry clusters into.

Recipe Tips

  • Dry Blueberries :It’s important to rinse and remove excess moisture from the blueberries before adding them into the creamy yogurt. Place the blueberries into a colander and run cold water over it to rinse off any dirt. Lay the blueberries onto a double layer of paper towels, on the counter top or on a plate, and then use another paper towel to dab them dry.
  • Want A Touch of Sweetness? :Try adding some vanilla extract and (start with 1/4 teaspoon or 1/2 teaspoon) into the yogurt + blueberry mixture. You can also use vanilla greek yogurt or honey vanilla greek yogurt for some added sweetness to the yogurt mixture. You could also add a touch of maple syrup – It’s best to use real raw maple syrup instead of pancake syrup.
  • Use Good Greek Yogurt :This is so important! Make sure you are using a greek yogurt flavor and brand that you love. I highly recommend using the Greek Gods brand of yogurt. It’s thick, rich in flavor, and not as tangy and sour as most plain greek yogurts are.
  • Tip :Depending on how small your freezer is (or what room room you have) you may need to use a plate(s) or a small baking sheet. The recipe only makes 10 clusters and as long as they are about 1-inch apart, they can be put on anything.
