Maytag French door, bottom freezer - Water accumulating on the freezer drawer gasket. After a short period of time, mold forms which is a potential health hazard. We asked Maytag to look at the problem. So far, 3 service people have come around - each one with a solution, but none have been successful. I called Maytag again and left messages on two different occasions, and they have yet to get back to me. Am I on the blacklist? This I know for sure - this is the last Maytag product to ever get in to my house again. If anyone has a solution to our problem, we would love to hear from you.

Purchased the Maytag Bravos washer approx. 2.5 years ago. I cannot even begin to describe how disgusted I am with this washer. My clothes i.e. towels come out ripped on the edges, clothes do not get clean, shirts etc come out wrinkled no matter what setting used. It is not energy efficient because loads of laundry need to be washed twice if they are soiled (like our everyday jeans). Went back to the independent store where I purchased washer and was told to use only the bulky or gentle/delicates cycles to reduce rips in clothing. Such a complete waste of money, and it was not cheap!

I purchased this dryer in September 2011. By August 2012, one month before the warranty expires, the thermo fuse blew and the dryer would not dry; no heat. I replaced fuse and 30 days later, it blew again. I replaced it again and now, March 2013, 6 months later, the same thing; the thermo fuse blew, no heat. The vent is clean and air flow is very good. Maytag will not admit a problem. This is not an inexpensive dryer; it may be cheap, but not inexpensive. Maytag quality appears to have vanished. I have Maytag throughout the house but will think twice before purchasing Maytag again. Chinese produced parts/products are inferior. Maybe Ill look at Bosch or LG from now on.

Bought a new Bravo washer and gas dryer; Dryer model mgdb980bg. Bought it September 2013. I have had nothing but problems. The dryer would run for 10 minutes then shut off saying check lint trap. Then once it started going again, it close were even damp. It wouldnt sense so it wouldnt start. Finally it got to the point where I couldnt get my dryer working so I phone repair place. The guy came out and set the temperature. Gauges or sensors were off by over 20 degrees as well our entire starter motor was shot. That was over a month ago and we are still waiting for a part that is apparently back ordered. I call today and they said its a faulty dryer and it could take anywhere from a week to two months to get the part. I am requesting a new dryer.

I purchased a Maytag Dryer Model MEDC200XW1 Electric Dryer in November of 2011. Along with a Maytag Washer from Home Depot. This week the dryer stopped heating for no apparent reason. I use it about three times a week. I tried to speak to Maytag customer service, they were very rude and did not care I spent thousands of dollars in kitchen appliances as well. They would not even cover the service call or diagnostic or half the repair cost. Supervisor Brian @ Maytag Customer Service was rude and unprofessional. I will never buy their product again.

Home Depot said they dont cover installs after 2 weeks and to directly contact the manufacturer for service. Maytag sent out a tech 3 times but they werent able to replicate the problem, so nothing has been done to fix the dishwasher even though Ive shown the tech different photos of the dishwasher leaking. The service tech said they will now charge me $90 to return, even though the dishwasher is still under warranty and not repaired! Ive owned many different dishwashers (rentals and houses) without any problems. This is the first Maytag brand and it is horrible. I will never buy another Maytag and have warned all of my friends and family.

The basket decided to drop today and by the time I realized that it did, my whole bathroom had flooded, the water spread down the hall into my spare bedroom and soaked through the floor, also flooding my basem*nt. I called customer service. They are sending a repair man next week, but as for all my ceramic tiles that are now cracked in my bathroom and my hardwood in the hall and bedroom that is full of water and are lifting off the ground. Its my responsibility to call my insurances to fix it. Yet it was their washing machine that caused the damage in the first place. After calling Maytag and getting horrible customer service (long wait on the phone, no supportive/suggestive advice, rude representative), we were given a phone number for a local Maytag repair man who charged $300 just to walk into the house.He was literally in and then out of our house within 10 minutes. His advice was to unplug and defrost the refrigerator for 24 hours. Thankfully, his suggestion worked, but should have been given to us as a troubleshooter by the representative on the phone with Maytag.We have had to unplug and defrost the refrigerator about every 3 weeks since. It has become very annoying and stressful. There is obviously a defect in the refrigerator that should be replaced by Maytag! I will never buy a Maytag product again.

However, our washing machine did not have a serial number. It had the model number/purchase date, etc, but no serial number. Our drier had it, but not our washing machine. They simply replied that it takes time to order parts, and there is nothing they can do and apologized. I asked what about me having to go to a laundromat and sit for hours, doing laundry. They again replied; there is nothing they can do.I also stated I spent $1,100 for this front load top of the line, Maytag washing machine, because of its name, and supposedly good quality. They again said there was nothing they could do. They did tell me that the washing tub, the part that we needed, was on back order until January 28th. This puts me at about a month without a washing machine. They stated they would try and locate the part, and have it sent out to my house, not the appliance company that is supposed to fix it, but my house, so that once I did receive it, I could call All Appliances, and set up the time/fixing of the machine. This has been pure hell! Maytag is a joke. I paid a good price for a supposedly good company/machine. They are doing nothing to expedite the parts. They are doing nothing to back their products. They are not even offering compensation for my inconvenience of having to go to a laundromat, or being without a washing machine for over a week, and potentially up to a month.I have been without a washing machine for over a week. I have had a load of laundry locked in the washing machine. I have had to drive to a laundromat to do laundry, which includes time and mileage. I have been informed that the parts are on back order, and now could be up to a month without a washing machine. Maytag is not offering any compensation, no loaner machine, no replacement. Instead, they are just saying, sorry, you have to wait for the parts. I would really like the VPs. and Presidents of Maytag to go without a washing machine for a week, or their families to go without a washing machine for a week, possibly a month, and see what they have to say about that company.

We bought a Maytag Refrigerator, Model MSB27C2XAMSS from BrandsMart on 2/4/2015. Today, I made my 4th Service Call for the Ice Maker not making ice. The service department has replaced the icemaker, repaired it and still does not work. When I call for service I usually have to wait 5-7 days before I can have a technician come to my home. Also, the refrigerator door does not close unless you push it completely to the refrigerator, unlike most refrigerators that I have had. I would never buy another Maytag refrigerator and certainly will make an informed and researched decision before buying another refrigerator. I am truly dissatisfied with this refrigerator and would suggest looking for other brands.

I purchased it 8 months ago. I have had problems with the machine leaving clothes soaked at the end of cycle. I have contacted Maytag (still under warranty) and they replaced the motor. The first load after repair still had the same problem. They said the check drain was not clogged. The snaked drain has no backups. After every wash, I have to reset the cycle to drain and spin. The machine spins for seconds and fills back up with water and doesnt spin again, but does drain. Clothes are sopping wet at the end of cycle. I contacted Maytag. They said I could be billed for customer education ($129) if they find no problem (threat). I want my money for purchase returned or at least 3/4ths. Every four days, there is a huge puddle of water at the base of the unit and it is starting to ruin my ceramic tiles. I tried the online video solutions to no avail. Home Depot wont repair it, they told me to contact Maytag. Maytag wants me to purchase a $375 warranty, which is 30% of what I paid for the refrigerator. I will never buy a Maytag refrigerator again, or any Maytag product for that matter. They once stood for solid reliability and peace of mind, now you get a piece of junk instead. I cant even sell it on Craigslist if I wanted to because who would want it? If a class action suit is ever initiated, Ill be on board. I hope Consumer Affairs contacts me.

We were very impressed with this dishwasher when we bought it about 2 years ago. It looked very nice, it was the quietest running dishwasher weve seen, dishes came out sparkling. However, the nightmare quickly began. It started with having to cancel then resume. It ran for 8 hours non-stop (still cycling the next morning). We unplugged it and we were able to use it normally for a few times. Weve had so much aggravation with this machine weve decided to (A) Never to buy another digital dishwasher, (B) Join the class action suit proposed against Maytag. We have tried all the reset solutions offered and Weve been hand washing dishes (again) for days.

Three drawers for fruits, vegetables and meat/cheeses work out great, and keep those products at the correct temperatures. Settings for both freezer and refrigerator are easy to see and change, if needed. Would buy another Maytag unit. Easy slide out for cleaning coils behind the unit.

About 6 months ago (5 years of owning), some of the control panel buttons stopped working. Finally, the Start button stopped. Replacement part and service is about $400 per local appliance repair shop. They recommended buying a new dishwasher. They stated that the touch control panels have reduced the life of dishwashers to about 5 to 7 years. However, I had seen testimonials on the web of dishwashers lasting on average 9 years - not Maytags. I will be avoiding Maytag for next purchase. I have seen too many complaints online about the control panels dying. I consider myself lucky as my panel died after 5 years while many reviews say theirs died right after the 1-year warranty.

He told me that the control panel was damaged and that he would have to replace it. The cost is $145.00 plus the $50.00 service call. He said something must have spilled and got into the control panel. It is a built-in dishwasher underneath a kitchen counter. I think it should somehow be protected against spills and/or moisture getting into the control panel as it is underneath the kitchen counter. I do not remember spilling anything that ran down the front on the dishwasher. But even if something spilled, if it was made properly it should still be working. I will not recommend a Maytag to anyone and will also spread the word about what happened. Unhappy in Pennsylvania.

Within the first couple months the transmission leaked oil and service tech had to replace the transmission. A few months later – another problem, clothes wet after spin cycle - tech told me the agitator base and/or couple parts need replaced. Quality control appears to have been lacking at the factory when this washer was made. This house has only one person presently. The washer was not abused.

Bought the Maytag MDSH969AWS1 in Dec. 2010, and it quit after 4 and 1/2 years. Ironically, replaced a perfectly good 20 year old GE model that ran great for this piece of junk. I tried to diagnose the problem: the washer fills, but when the cycle is supposed to start it just hums. Then you have to drain it. So I think the problem is the motor or capacitor. The parts are stupidly overpriced, and Im not even sure if that is the problem. It could also be the electronics board (Ive heard of the problems with these on this brand). So instead of risking wasted time and parts Im junking this, er, piece of junk. The stainless steel door was rusting on the bottom too. American made crap! Bought a fancy Samsung to replace it, and will NEVER buy Maytag again. Im old enough to recall the lonely Maytag repairman -- Itd give him a swift kick in the rear for being associated with such a shoddy brand. Maytag, its the Dodge-Jeep of appliances.

People who have been waiting should be at the TOP of the list. This Maytag washer and dryer are far more superior than the units I had before. It is also made in USA which makes me feel like it will not fail me as soon as the others. The agitation when washing anything is something else I love. I will buy more Maytag in the future.

Im not surprised as I cant tell you how many times this machine has gone through the motions (cycles) of appearing to clean, then we discovered that it has not cleaned anything, despite being very hot (and dry) inside the unit. Stay away from this brand.Multiple service calls and replacement parts we incurred at our own cost, in addition to many episodes of inconvenience to our family.

I also have to have some walls replaced because of mold. When I called Maytag they said that they would send the part but we would have to install & that they knew this part was a problem. Luckily I had the extra year warranty. How can a company get away with this? If they know that a part is failing why didnt they notify anybody? Now the damage is done & hopefully my Homeowners insurance is going to pay for the damage. I paid $1,100 for it, 1 1/2 years. Thank goodness I bought the extended warranty. I started having the same problems two years later, 2017. I called Maytag today, 9/11/17, to see if they had recalled this dishwasher. No, it hasnt been recalled. They offered to sell me a extended warranty for $400+, that would pay for the service call and parts or, I could find another Maytag, Whirlpool or KitchenAid dishwasher and depending on the model, I could get a 25-45% discount on a new one. I asked why they havent recalled this model, due to the problems that so many people are having. They dont know. Im writing this review to let those of you who have bought this dishwasher know, that the product is faulty.

The washer needs less sheets put in at a time to rinse better. It is a agitator less model.

Example, you could not put more than two bath towels in at a time, even with the towel setting. The washer would stop and you have to re-position the towels. I went to our local hardware store the same day and purchased the only washing machine they had which was a Maytag high efficiency Top loading washer the same day September 30, 2020. Had the washer delivered and set up, and watched the washer work through the window in the top. The sensor on the machine only gave water up to the top of the clothes, not over them. When it went into the rinse cycle it gave the same amount of water. My clothes came out with soap suds on them and the clothes on top did not agitate down into the machine on the wash nor rinse cycle. Not once on the loads I washed in the two weeks I had the machine did my clothes come out clean and not twisted in a mess making it difficult to get them out of the machine. I used the expensive Tide HP pods and followed the referenced directions. In reading the other reviews on this same washer many of them had the exact same problems that I did. The warranty will not replace this brand new machine nor the hardware store so I am stuck with a washer that doesn’t work as it should and out of the money I paid for it.

There was a great Canadian Black Friday sale event special, so we purchased the whole lot at Home Depot thinking we had got a great deal, however back then there were very little reviews on the washers, as they were fairly new. This is the absolute worst washer, I have to pause the washer after the water level that the sensor allows finishes and add at least a bucket more of water to cover the clothes and clean them properly and rinse them twice to make sure the residue from the soap gets washed off (I use HE pods, so not using too much soap). Im going to replace it, but I cannot even try to recoup any money back, as I couldnt/ wouldnt be able to sell it to anyone knowing that it is just garbage!! Read MANY complaints about these units leaking water onto the floor underneath. This is accompanied by a sheet of ice forming on the bottom of the freezer under the main drawer. Good money says the cause is a plugged drain tube. I had a Subzero that suffered a similar problem. The factory installed drain tube was a flexible coil type and food particles would be easily caught, compromising water flow - leading to an ice plug and eventual evaporator ice-over. I replaced the factory tube with 1/4-inch rubber fuel line and the problem went away for good. With the Maytag units, if memory serves, access to the drain tube is from the back of the unit. You have to remove an access panel to get to it. There is typically a small removable rubber restrictor cap on the bottom of the tube; this is the most likely spot for a clog to form. Due to its design, IMO, clogging and ice-over will probably be a periodic thing. If you are really handy, you can do this maintenance thing yourself.

They were bought out by Whirlpool eight years ago. I bought my top-load Maytag Bravo 400 Series Washer ($1,028) at Home Depot in October 2008. No problems with it until now, less than 4 years old with error code DL. So I looked in the book and found it was the lid lock (the little red light wasnt lighting up when closing the lid, which prevents it from running).I made an online appointment with Sears Home Appliance repair to check it out. But after talking with online friends and googling fix videos, I was able to get it running today by taking the top off, unplugging the lid wire and plugging it back in. So far, its working but now I will fear each time I go to use it that something else will fail. My old Maytags (washer and dryer) bought in the 80s never needed service until they approached the 14- to 15-year mark. That only tells me that the newer made appliances are total junk! So many complaints and how the companies dont back their appliances, it just sickens me.

I chose Maytag top loading due to their former reputation we experienced with dishwashers, etc. It had an agitator, deep fill option, extra rinse, etc. The sales person at Home Depot stated, the agitator is because people like you still want the agitator, and the deep fill will give you the water you have been used to. Not so at all!!Clothes get wound up together, even with filling the wash tub in bundles, there is almost NO water to thoroughly clean & the rinse cycle is a joke. Clothes do NOT come out clean. Im 58 yrs. old and have been doing laundry since I was 13 so I know what I am doing. Its just my husband and I now, and he is so upset that his clothes are pilling probably from rubbing together, even though I occasionally use laundry bags. I seriously wish I would have saved my money and kept the 2 perfectly working whirlpool units I had. This has been such a disappointment. I sincerely would not buy these.P.S. Weve had service out at least 5 times in the last year, and all they do is test the washer and tell us its working as intended... From the beginning, we had problems with our French door refrigerator (MFC2061HEW; it has been discontinued). Within the first year we had 3 ice makers replaced because it was not making any ice. Now, mind you, we went through Maytag to have their repairman to service our appliance and they set up all the service calls. We limped by for awhile and called a different repairman to come and check the fridge because it was not staying cold or making ice again and, of course, it was out of warranty. The first thing he did was check the freon and we were told that it didnt have enough freon to keep it going, so he recharged it and it worked great. We have had to have the repairman come back again this month because it stopped making ice and the temperature for upper and lower was all over the place. He checked the freon again and said the unit has a slow leak in it and he was unable to fix that. I contacted Maytag because I felt if the first repairman had checked the freon from the beginning, we wouldnt be having this problem. The only suggestion I got from them was call a company with a dye kit test and that they are sorry, but its not under warranty. I dont know about anyone else, but $2000.00 for a fridge that has been a pain since day one is a lot of money to replace. I feel they dont care about their customers and they should be responsible for paying for the repair that should have been caught from the get-go.

I cannot use my Maytag gas range and oven appliance until I can purchase part #W10213446, which your factory website shows as back-ordered until 2020. This means that I cant cook a meal or have the family and friends Ive invited come to my home for Christmas dinner. I need your help to provide better customer service than Ive received to date through working with the Maytag customer service call center, and the service Maytag parts distributors Reliable Parts and WC May company have received from working through your factory website.Ive owned Whirlpool appliances since I built my home in 1989. When I remodeled my kitchen in August 2010 I chose a Maytag range, fridge, dishwasher and microwave as Id had a good experience with your products for 21 years. Youve built a great reputation for quality products and service, and I hope that you will continue to deliver on the commitment promised in your brand by resolving my problem quickly. A burner control on my three-year-old gas range and oven (model #MGR6775; serial #D00934496) recently stopped working (a Maytag design defect - several screws were too weak to hold the cooktop at the correct level) and your customer service call center referred me to A&E Factory Service for the repair. A&E service staff have been to my home twice and are unable to fix my stove leaving me without a stove for the past two weeks and foreseeable future - as the necessary part, #W10213446, is shown as back-ordered with no estimated time of arrival. The WC May company let me know that your website shows an ETA of 2020 for this part on your factory parts website.When the service repairman informed me that the part was indefinitely back-ordered today, I called the Maytag customer service center asking them to locate and expedite delivery of the part. The line staff and her supervisor let me know that they would not provide that service, as I do not have a pre-existing extended warranty contract for the range. I am willing to pay for expediting the part, but they wont give me that option. So I called the parts retailers covering the western U.S. myself to learn that Whirlpools supply chain is so flawed that it cannot provide a part for a three-year-old range.Whirlpools core principles espoused on your website say that founders Lou, Emory and Fred Upton continually improved their washer; they cared about their community, their employees and their customers. They believed that there is no right way to do a wrong thing. It also states that what truly distinguishes Whirlpool Corporation is our commitment to building strong brands and a loyal consumer base. Were focused on maximizing the benefits of our worldwide network of resources, which is unmatched in the industry.I believe that leaving me for up to two months without a range, so that I cant cook meals for myself every day, and for my family during the Christmas holidays is not living up to your brand promise. Please let me know as soon as possible how you will solve this problem.

Our prior fridge died on a hot long weekend in July 2020. Desperate for a fridge, I ordered any fridge that could be delivered the same day. Received a Maytag which totally died 3 months later! Now I am waiting for a part (which apparently the Manufacturer has 100 in their inventory but havent distributed them to the source that ordered them). This is just the worst service I have ever experienced with an appliance. As so many people have said, I should have waited and ordered a European appliance. They are built beyond perfection and have excellent service.

My home has all Maytag appliances, all just over 2.5 years and I have had no issues with any of the other equipment excepting the fridge. The fridge itself works very well when it does, but some things are just wrong/flawed with the French door fridge.1. The Evaporator mechanism is flawed and keeps accumulating frost over the Thermistor sensor, which in turn shuts off the fan and the fridge itself stops cooling rendering all the produce bad within hours of purchase. The freezer and icemaker works fine during this time. The first time a tech came in during Warranty period and put come Aluminum foil over the thermostat and zip tied it and told us that the issue is resolved. Fast forward 18 months or so, same issue. This time they want to replace all parts since the last time it did not fix it. How convenient isnt it? So now I have to shell 500 plus bucks to solve what was not fixed the last time. Flawed design is all it is; do not purchase any of the French door fridge from Maytag/Whirlpool or be prepared to buy an extended warranty and a down fridge every 12-15 months at the minimum. In my case shell out 500 bucks every 15 months I guess.2. Sloppy icemaker: Ever heard of an icemaker that thinks and drops 4-5 cubes when requested and thinks again before giving another 4-5 cubes? We see it all the time at Soda fountains. This is what to expect off a Maytag ice maker. And lord knows if you have guests, they will run through the batch of ice by the very first meal and then the princess ice maker needs 12 hours to make another batch of ice.3. Noisy fridge: Ever heard a noisy fridge in a very quiet home? This Fridge excels at that. Just about the time it shuts off the compressor, boom it goes on again.

In approx 1975 I purchased a Maytag W&D, Model MAH4000 MDE4000, when their advertisem*nt was portraying Maytag repairmen as the loneliest repairmen. Maytag was so dependable that the repairman was NOT needed...and it was true... That Maytag W&D set lasted til approx 1998 when it was upgraded to the Maytag Neptune MAH4000 series... Had a minor problem with mold in the washer, but Sears and Maytag replaced the seal and made another modification... We also dried the seal at the end of the washing day and left the door slightly ajar between uses... Have not again had that problem.I have since given the Neptune set to my daughter and the washer and dryer are still in operation, WORKING SUPERBLY I might add... So I am searching for a good quality Model MAH4000 and MDE4000 to replace my current much older, yet functional Whirlpool... It may need some repairs and about a year ago, I spent $173 to replace the Pump which was clogged by a sock inadvertently stuffed around the top of the drum when too many items were pushed in at one time. I prefer not to throw additional money at this machine! So, if you know of a Quality pre-owned Maytag Neptune washer and dryer in the Lexington KY area, please contact me...

I bought the dishwasher (Model MDB7749AWM) 15 months ago and paid $490.00. I had to put a new console in it ($245.00) on 07/16/2012. So that’s $735.00. Two days ago, the console went out again! I’m not putting $245 more in it! I called Maytag’s office. They more or less told me that was my problem! I am throwing that piece of junk away! And I’m buying a different brand. Maytag does not stand behind their product. Last Maytag I will buy! Warning! Do not buy Maytag!

I purchased my Maytag Bravos Washer/Dryer several years ago, and I have hated them ever since. The clothes smell and are wrinkled. The dryer never gets the clothes dry. It will run and run and run, and the clothes will still be wet. I previously owned a Maytag Washer/Dryer for nearly 20 years and never had a problem. This set is a piece of junk. When I go to Lowes or any store for that matter and see someone considering this product, I warn them as quickly as possible to stay away from this product. I will continue to do so. Shame on you, Maytag, for making such a horrible product and for being too weak to stand behind your product. I will never buy Maytag again and will do my best to make sure none else does either.

We purchased this new set of Neptune Washer and dryer at Lowes, in Yakima Washington in 2004, and now discover that there is a class action lawsuit due to the problems associated with mold, the pump, the motherboard, etc. Our washer is making horrendous noises when it spins, and the motherboard barely works at all. I trusted Maytag and bought this set and a stackable set at the same time. Yes, I am angry and will never buy a Maytag or Whirlpool again.

We purchased the MMV4205DS over the range microwave in June of 2015 & installed it in July the same year. We purchased the matching range & a dishwasher at the same time as they were running a promo of $150 rebate if all 3 were purchased. They denied us of $50 of the rebate & stated that all of the paperwork was not submitted on time. We received rebates on 2 of the appliances & paperwork for all. 3 were in the same mailing. Hmmm. We were told a 3rd party handles their rebate program. So much for taking ownership. Yesterday the door open message appeared on the control panel of the microwave & now there is nothing; no light, no fan--completely dead. So much for buying American. Maytag does not see that this is a problem? Do NOT buy Maytag!!!
