If there is one food I would I could eat the rest of my life and not get sick of, it would be chips and salsa. I decided to whip together a batch of blender salsa with ingredients I had in my pantry and it turned out amazing!

How to Make Easy Blender Salsa:

Add all ingredients to blender. Blend until fairly smooth.

Add salt and lemon juice to match your desired taste. Serve with tortilla chips or on top of your favorite Mexican dish.

What if I prefer a Chunky Salsa?

We know that a smooth, blended salsa isn’t for everyone. Don’t worry! I’ve got a simple solution for you.

Add whichever ingredients you want chopped small — I recommend the jalapeño, onion, and cilantro — to the blender. Next, drain the juice from the canned tomatoes into the blender.

Now, blend these ingredients until smooth. Then, add the tomatoes and simply pulse the blender 2-3 times, or until the salsa reaches your desired consistency.”

This salsa can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. I love to menu plan multiple meals that I can use the salsa with.

Is it OK to freeze fresh salsa?

It may not look as fresh and perky as fresh salsa, but it can definitely be done. It is a great alternative to canning. There will be some watery liquid after it is thawed but you can drain off the liquid.

  • 28.8 ounces diced tomatoes 2 (14.4 ounce cans), undrained
  • 1 jalapeno pepper seeds and ribs removed
  • 1 onion quartered
  • ½ bunch cilantro leaves
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
  • salt, to taste
  • multi grain Tortilla Chips optional

  • Pour all ingredients into a blender.

  • Blend until fairly smooth.

  • Add additional salt and lemon juice to reach desired taste.

    Just realized that the narrative says to drain tomatoes, the recipe says “undrained” which I did last time. I used lime juice last time but realized the recipe calls for lemon. Help! :)
